From the Coach's Desk:

The boys are in the Plano Labor day tournament this weekend.  We are missing several key players on our team.  Vincent, Luke, and Daunte are major contributors to our team but they aren't available to play this weekend. We have asked Nathan and Richard to fill in for us.  They are really helping our team out in a major way.

Our first game was against Odyessey '02.  They were an okay team but our team didn't come to play there best soccer that day.  We lost 2-0.  The boys were working hard but just not playing well together.   Everyone wanted to do it themselves.  There was no team play at all which resulted in us being shutout.  With the offensive weapons we have, there is never a reason why we should be shutout by anyone.

Our 2nd game was versus a very good team called Solar '02 (orange).  They were a very competitive team.  We lost 7-3 but our defense wasn't quite in place.  The boys are still learning there new positions.  And it will take several months in order for us to really understand our positions.  But we are showing improvements each and every game.

Our 3rd game was against Canadian Valley Red '02 (oklahoma city team).  We needed to beat or tie this team in order to get to the quarterfinals of the Plano labor day tournament.  We scored a great goal in the first 10 mins.  They scored back immediately.  It was only 1-1 at halftime.  The game was very exciting.  Then They scored the first goal in the 2nd half.  But we never gave up.  Our captain Nick friend scored to free kicks to put us ahead 3-2 with 3 mins left in the game.  The boys played very well collectively.  Parker Offill made a huge sacrifice for our team b/c he wasn't feeling well but he played amazing back at goal keeper.  Great TEAM WIN boys!!!!!!!

We are in the quarterfinals of the Plano Labor Day  this afternoon.  Our quarterfinal game is at 4:15pm at Carpenter Park.

Remember..............soccer is 90% heart, 5% skill, and 5% brains (who can out-smart who).  You must have heart to be a winner in SOCCER.
